ARTS & CULTURE

The college management lays special emphasis on promoting cultural and arts-related events on the campus. The institute has upheld cultural values throughout its existence and encourages students to participate in various cultural events held on campus.

To begin with, it’s the tradition of VESIT to welcome the F.E’s  the new entrants in the college are given a very warm welcome. The Fresher’s Party is indeed what every fresher is on the lookout for. This year, held on the 2nd of October , it saw an enthusiastic response indeed, with some marvellous individual performances in the field of dance and dramatics.

The college music group finished a modest  second in the University Group Song Competition amidst tough competition. The college added another feather to its cap when it finished on the top of the state level group song competition, conducted by the BHARAT VIKAS PARISHAD, notwithstanding tough local competition .Also noteworthy is that college had won the State Level Competition last year as well.

January 12 is celebrated as the Annual Cultural Day in the college. Students are encouraged to dress themselves in traditional and cultural outfits representing their own unique cultures. The diversity and lively nature of this event makes it a memorable event every year.

Throughout the year, several other events are organized in college, which give students a chance to demonstrate their talents and share cultural values. Students share their interests in classical music (hindustani and Karnatic), folk music, instrumentals, folk-dance and painting.

The most significant event in the arena of arts and culture held on campus is the annual festival - Utsav. The Utsav sees a large participation from students in all departments. Students - juniors to seniors, participate actively in this three-day event which extends throughout the day. Students compete in various events for prizes which are awarded in the Annual Day held immediately following the festival.

The odd semester sees  the college participating in University Sports Tournaments in Chess, Badminton, Table Tennis team, Basket Ball, Football.

Our college Table Tennis team did us proud by bagging the Badminton

The even semester is welcomed with the outdoor events of sphurti that includes Basketball, Volleyball, Football, Cricket, and Athletics. They were held from the 2nd to the 22nd of February last year.
